Trieu Tu Truyen To B. Ng.
on New Year's Eve
two lost horses met each other in a narrow valley
a pink one raised its ears to the west
a white one turned its head to the east
waiting for their herd's whinnies
the past was an invisible rein which tore their hearts into two
they waited the dawn from the east horizon without any promise
they expected the early morning at the west hill-side
a fragile sunlight had died for the whole future
long time ago
they were very happy in the sun
they ran satisfiedly on the trails
now their herd disappeared with no more illusion
then the sunset tied two creatures
no ways to go
hiding in a narow pass
suddenly they smelled the contender's warmth
from the bottom of their instinct
male and female regconized each other
then on New Year's Eve
they created a new herd
in the dark of tomorrow
of the coming New Year…

EVERY SINGLE LIFE
1
you are a female bird which loses the season
you make a nest to keep me – a life of a wind
a life of a tree with vanity of fame
outside is green
inside is good
but if the branches are rotten?
2
my destiny is as miserable as a tree's
digs the hole for the roots
gives the branches to the birds' nests
but I feel pleased with the clear voices of the birds
and I am happy with the squirrels climb up, climb down naively
3
my karma is to desire the future
I send the traits, the talents to you
I pour a stream of soul into a wine-gourd
would you please carry them in boundless pain
4
I give birth to the merciful breath
you keep the silence and lots of compassion
when our child grows up
he will still quietly sow the primitive seed
in all over the ground
